Hello,
I have lived in the Pontiac, Michigan area most of my life. I lived for a few years in Phoenix, Arizona. I moved to the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti, Michigan area a few years ago to find work. I have been trying for years to find a way to start my own business producing productivity and entertainment software, and virtual websites. A few years ago, I started to develop a plan to finally accomplish this goal. For the past few years, especially after my brother-in-law died, I have been trying to help out my sister and her family too. Recently I have lost communication with her after she lost her job and was evicted from her home. If anyone can help me get into contact with her, please do. Her name is D. J. Mitchell and a few years ago ran for a seat on the Pontiac School Board.
I am also interested in children’s literature, TV and movies and plan to create computer games and entertainments appropriate for children as well as adults. I became interested in the Pokémon trading card game through my youngest niece and have quite a collection of cards. I now have Pokémon from Yl/Go/Cr too. I am also a fan of Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Trek—just about anything to do with fantasy and science fiction.
For those of you who like to know such things, I am a Libra with a Scorpio rising and was born in the year of the Snake. I also like novelty songs like Purple People-Eater, Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer, She Likes Me for Me, . . . You know—songs that are funny.
If you are interested, send me an email telling me a little about yourself and what your expertise is. If you are a foreign student attending U of M, EMU, or WCC or a local resident of the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti area, maybe we can meet later. I generally walk or take the bus.
I have many interests so finding something to talk/write about should be no problem. Besides parenting, other cultures and games, I am interested in cats, home cooking, and social issues. (My major game is designed as a social commentary.) I have read all of Baum’s Oz books and J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter books, but I have read Interview with a Vampire, Clan of the Cave Bear, and The Mammoth Hunters too. I collect kisekae sets (a sort of computerized Colorforms), and have the Sims 1 and collect and experiment with the utilities. Someday I hope to travel to other countries besides Canada. In the meantime, if you are from another country or are from another culture in the US (Cajun/Acadian, Native American, Romany, Hawaiian, etc.) tell me about where you live. Send photos!
In fact, I would really like to contact anyone who reads and/or writes classical Greek, Japanese, or Russian, as I have a couple of game projects which require translation.
I have been also trying to find out the name of a creature supposedly from Arabic folklore. I no longer have the book that I found the reference, but from memory these bird-like creatures arise from the body of a murdered victim and hunt down the guilty party until they drink from his blood. The book was published by Marvel Comics, so the authenticity of the legend is in doubt. If anyone can give me information one way or the other, please write.
There have been a few other projects that I have been working on lately where I am stuck on information. I would like to find pictures of the interior set of the “ship of my imagination” as well as the outside shot of the ‘ship’ itself from Carl Sagan’s series, Cosmos. I want to build a Sims house based on the interior of the ship.
If anyone can help me out with my projects, I might be able to help them with theirs. I am usually pretty good at finding information. Kids, if you are doing school reports, I will only give you sources. ;-)
